At Lean On Me, we are committed to the safety and well-being of our clients and their families. We have created our protocol based on current Hawaii State guidelines. These protocols are subject to change as guidance from the state and county evolves. The music therapist working with Lean On Me is FULLY VACCINATED and willing to provide documentation if requested.
Prior to each music therapy visit, you are expected to inform your music therapist if you or anyone in your household is displaying symptoms of COVID-19. We know that many of these symptoms are also common symptoms of allergies and other non-contagious health issues. If you believe symptoms are related to a chronic health problem or allergies, please reach out to your music therapist to inform her of the issue. If anyone in your household shows any symptoms, has been exposed to a person with COVID-19, or has travelled from a restricted area, your session will be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date.
There will be no penalty for last minute rescheduling due to COVID-19 symptoms or possible exposure. If your music therapist needs to cancel due to own COVID-19 symptoms or exposure, your session will be rescheduled to ensure your safety. Please follow CDC guidelines regarding your specific situation to ensure the appropriate amount of time has passed before rescheduling, and your music therapist will do the same.
Your music therapist will come prepared with a face mask, follow hand washing and sanitizing protocol, and will sanitize instruments before, during, and after sessions. Cleaning and disinfection will adhere to Hawaii Department of Health’s guidelines. It is requested that all present parties also wear masks, if possible, and wash their hands to protect the music therapist and other clients being served by the music therapist. Only essential family members (e.g. parent/caregiver) should be present in the session. Additional family members or others living in the household are requested to not come in contact with the music therapist. It is understood that sometimes clients will be unable to wear a mask or keep it on for the duration of a session due to medical or sensory conditions.
In all cases, your family should follow the guidance of your doctor and the local Department of Health. The decision to stop home isolation should follow all local, state and national COVID-19 guidelines and should be directed by your healthcare provider.
Telehealth services are also available for those who need to remain isolated or who may prefer this option for decreased risk.
